Consultant urological surgeon with a major interest in prostate cancer, Mr Harriss has been based at Nottingham City Hospital’s Urology Centre for the past 11 and a half years. He was previously head of Urology Services at the hospital and was instrumental in setting up the flagship Nottingham Urology Centre. Mr Harriss studied medicine at London’s Guy’s Hospital and went on to complete his surgical training at Oxford and Nottingham. He completed a fellowship in Denver, Colorado, USA. His clinical interests include laproscopic prostatectomy and prostate HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound). Research interests include bladder and prostate disease processes and cancer audit. Mr Harriss is married with two children. His leisure interests include golf, skiing and outdoor pursuits. |
Mr Owen Cole - Profile Mr Cole has been a consultant urological surgeon at Nottingham City Hospital for the past five and a half years. He specialises in the treatment of urological cancers and particularly on keyhole surgery of prostate cancer and HIFU. Mr Cole is the head of the City Hospital’s Urology Services Department and the lead cancer clinician. He studied medicine at St Mary’s Hospital, London and did his surgical training in Nottingham. He completed a surgical fellowship in Melbourne, Australia. His research interests include the prevention of prostate cancer and the diagnosis of prostate cancer. He has been awarded an Honorary Hunterian Professorship by The Royal College of Surgeons of England. Mr Cole is married with two young children. His interests include rugby and music. |
